But I cannot see
Steel, denim or navy?
I have seen the cobalt water
But it is grey in my mind
I remember the rush and the roar
The crowd; the agony and ecstasy
Shouts, chants and cries
But I don’t see them now
The golden moments scored from my mind
I can see the school building
The vast field, trees and sky
Red, white and black streaks of uniformity
But their faces are a blur
Gone from my mind
I remember the first time
The touch of the skin
The heat of her body
But her aspect passes by
A silhouette in my mind
I am the sum of my experiences
I remember the thoughts
And the feelings
But the sights that I have seen;
Ashen in my mind.
This poem is a reference to my general inability to visualise my memories very well; probably a primary motivater for my budding interest in photography.
That's really intense Jack... good one!!
